Unleash your creativity with our texture rollers!

Hello! Whether you are new to the world of pottery or you are a veteran potter who is interested in comparing our products to our competitors, we at Potterhyme would like to say “Welcome, we’re glad you’re here!” We are so glad that you have found our site and we are certain that you will find just the right tools and accessories to make the pottery pieces you have been looking forward to making while you are looking around at the items listed on our site.

In fact, the focus of this blog is the tool that is responsible for the aspect of pottery that is probably most highly anticipated by new potters, the making of textured pieces. This tool is known as the pottery texture roller and with it, you will be able to create pottery that will have people oohing and aahing over your pottery and asking “How did you create such a beautiful piece?”

The texture rollers that we sell on our site are made of lightweight beechwood, which is great for pottery texture rollers because beechwood is a natural wood and it does not splinter. The last thing that you want to be dealing with when you are working in your workspace is a splinter in your palm or one of your fingers. With that knowledge tucked away in the back of our minds, we made sure to select a wood for our texture rollers that you don’t have to worry about getting splinters from and that will also be durable and overall hold up over time which led to our choice of beechwood to make our texture rollers. However, we did not just leave it at that. We also make sure that each of our texture rollers is sanded until they are  perfectly smooth before we ship the orders off. In addition to being smooth, the texture rollers that we sell are also incredibly small. They only measure 5.9 inches in length and 0.8 inches in diameter. However, because they are so small and lightweight, this makes the texture rollers easy to handle, which in turn means that you as the potter remain in control of the depth of the patterns made in the clay by the texture rollers. So what patterns do we offer, you may be wondering.

We offer ten unique patterns on our texture rollers ranging from Christmas trees and

snowflakes for the winter-loving potters to paw prints for the pet-owning potter in your life and tiger stripes for the potters who have an adventurous streak in them (perhaps even now as you read this, you are thinking of that person in your life whose dream it is to go on a safari at some point in their life?) to leaves, flowers, stars, and rainbows for the whimsical nature lovers, and finally to stone and wave patterns for those potters who appreciate the classic pottery designs. The only possible downside of the rollers is that they come as a set of 10, so you do have to get all the rollers together and you cannot order singular replacements if you were to happen to lose one of the texture rollers.

The last aspect of the texture rollers that we will draw your attention to is that they come in a box. This is also why we do not sell singular pottery texture rollers. We have found sending the texture rollers to our customers in a box to be helpful to those customers for a couple reasons. In the first place, it gives our customers an automatic holding place for the rollers after the rollers are shipped to them. Can you imagine having to go an extra step of having to buy a box to keep the texture rollers in after you have already bought the texture rollers? It would be a minor inconvenience, but since we can eliminate that inconvenience by sending the texture roller set in a box, that’s what we do! When you get your set in the mail, just put the box of texture rollers wherever you please in your workspace and they will be all in one place, ready to be used whenever you please. The second reason for the texture rollers to come in a box is probably even more obvious than the first reason. It is so that if you are not keeping the texture rollers for yourself, but rather, you are gifting them to some other potter in your life, you already have a box to give the rollers to them in. The potter who receives this set of texture rollers as a gift from you will probably also appreciate the box for the first reason we listed as well, they can take your gift back to their workspace and store the box of texture rollers wherever they want, the rollers easy to find and ready to be used!

Perhaps you are looking at the pottery texture rollers and you are thinking, “Well, everything sounds great, but are the texture rollers going to be a pain to clean with all the grooves and the smallness of the rollers? I do not want to spend most of my time cleaning the rollers!” We hear you; we would not want to have our own precious time consumed by the tedious cleaning of texture rollers either. The texture rollers should help you to fully enjoy the time you set aside to work on your pottery pieces. We have good news for you! The texture rollers are dishwasher safe. This means that when you have wrapped up a pottery-making session and you have a dirty pottery texture roller, you can just pop it in your dishwasher to be cleaned alongside your mealtime dishes Now, of course, from time to time, you may still decide that the texture rollers do need to be washed by hand, in order to clean the crevices thoroughly, but that is completely up to your discretion.

If you have any questions about our texture rollers after reading this, please let us know! We would be happy to answer your questions.
